The American Geriatrics Society would like to acknowledge and thank the John A. Hartford Foundation of New York City for its early and ongoing support of the development and distribution of Geriatrics At Your Fingertips® (GAYF). Creation of the first (1998–99) edition was supported as part of a Hartford Foundation grant to the American Geriatrics Society.

Subsequent editions of GAYF have been distributed free to over 90,000 third-year medical students and first-year residents in the United States, and to more than 5,000 nurse practitioner students through another generous grant from the Hartford Foundation.

The Hartford Foundation also supported the initial development and free distribution of GAYF for Palm OS and Windows CE devices.

The majority of the Hartford Foundation's current grants support research and training in geriatrics and intergrating and improving health services for older adults. More information on the Foundation and its programs can be found at www.jhartfound.org.
